Acrea is a boutique digitalization consultancy with extensive expertise in Digital Finance and Digital Health. They work with Switzerland-based clients, ranging from major banks, pension funds, and insurance companies to start-ups and scale-ups.
Driven by the brand purpose 'Making Digital Work' the rebranding aimed to align Acrea's new identity with the evolution of the company and establish a modern online presence. The primary objective was to position them as a boutique consultancy while showcasing the expertise of their senior team of consultants and their ability to handle projects of any scale.
In collaboration with the founders, we started the process by learning as much as possible about how they operate and the character of their work engagements. Inspired by the saying of one of Acrea's partners, "We are the engine that drives organizations forward" we realized that the way they impact organizations ultimately results in improving the end-user experience, which becomes the foundation of the new visual identity. On another note, the first brand touchpoint is often an in-person meeting with the consultants. Therefore, one of the goals was to infuse their collective personality into the brand's identity, allowing them to seamlessly 'continue the brand conversation' across various media channels.
To construct the visual identity, we followed simple, modern design principles combined with warm photography focused on the end-user. We applied the same principles to the website, using a compact layout and short, impactful messaging. A subtle touch was added to the Acrea logotype (a→a), symbolizing the added value of continuous digitalization (where needed), which is the core offering of the firm.
To give the brand more flexibility, we introduced a brand symbol, a simplified version of the logotype that balances technological progress with business reliability. The primary palette of Black Pearl and White adds contrast and clarity, while light tan brings warmth. A vibrant blue, used as a highlight, evokes digitalization and progress, adding energy and brand recognizability.
The reimagined identity results in a more consistent but also dynamic brand that allows Acrea to position itself as a sole professional but boutique consultancy in the Swiss financial market.
